Margaret A. Palmer, 89, passed away at home on April 19, 2012. Several family members were present as she left us. She leaves behind six children, Bryan Palmer of Carlsbad, Calif., Lynda Lowe of Fair Oaks, Calif., Alan Palmer of Las Cruces, Brenda Palmer of Las Cruces, Lester-Dale and his wife Elva Palmer of Las Cruces and Gloria Barlow and her husband Dean Barlow of Las Cruces. She also leaves behind her 20 grandchildren, Amber, Steve, Dawn, Donald, Matthew, Jenny, Russell, Summer, Lee, Bobbie, Lacey, Heather, Christopher, Brandon, Natalie, Taylor, Katie, Hanna, Grayson and Madie. Additionally, she leaves her 15 great-grandchildren Hunter, Wendy, Samantha, Charlotte, Kamrin, Delia, Aubrey, August, Shelby, Mason, Case, Emma, Eros, Riley and Mira. Born Margaret A. Dixon of Los Angeles, Calif. on March 12, 1923 to John Dixon and Ellen Wetherill, both of England. Margaret grew up in Los Angeles. Margaret married George R. Palmer on March 29, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. Their worldly travels brought them to Las Cruces in 1990. Margaret and Georges' earthly marriage of 67 years ended with Georges' passing in 2008. Margaret always had a smile and welcomed all into her home. Margaret was the glue that united her vast and numerous family together. She is greatly missed. Funeral services were held on April 25th at La Paz-Grahams' Funeral Home. At her request, cremation will follow the service. An ash spreading ceremony at sea for Margaret and George will be held at Catalina Island, Calif. at a later date.
